Storage facilities are included within the scope, but only those under direct production site control. What falls outside the scope

Understanding what the BRC Global Standard doesn’t cover is equally important. The standard explicitly excludes wholesale operations where products from multiple manufacturers are consolidated and redistributed. These activities involve different types of controls and are covered by the separate BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution.

Companies that primarily import food products from other countries for distribution are also excluded from this standard. Similarly, distribution activities outside the direct control of the production company require certification under different BRC standards.
